Dry Conditions Expected as Aintree Maintains Watering Efforts

Aintree's track will continue to be watered as dry and warm conditions persist in the lead up to the Grand National. Currently, the course conditions are as follows:

• Good, with some areas of good to soft on the Mildmay hurdles and chase tracks.
• Good To Soft on the Grand National course.

Rainfall has been minimal this spring, with only 17.5 millimetres of rain recorded in March. Ground staff began watering operations starting the week of March 17, and they will continue throughout the Grand National meeting as no rain is expected before or during the event.

The weather forecast for the week leading up to the event shows warm temperatures, with mild spring days expected from Thursday through Saturday. This should help maintain suitable track conditions for racing.

Jon Pullin, acting clerk of the course at Aintree, provided the following information:

• “The Grand National course remains good to soft, and the Mildmay course, both chase and hurdle, is good, good to soft in places.”
• “Conditions have remained dry, and the forecast predicts dry weather throughout the event. Temperatures are expected to increase slightly in the next few days.”
• “We may see temperatures rise to 18°C, but they will likely decrease to around 15°C by Saturday.”
• “With no rain anticipated, we will continue watering to ensure the ground remains suitable for racing.”
• “Watering began on March 17 and will continue as necessary.”
• “The forecast appears stable, with plenty of sunshine expected, ensuring favorable conditions for spectators over the three days of the meeting.”

The dry conditions and rising temperatures are expected to provide manageable track conditions, ensuring an enjoyable experience for both competitors and spectators during the Grand National event.
