Monday Jumps Big Price Bets (Feb 10 2025)

Plump & Catt Over The Jumps On Monday

Venue: Catterick | Going: Π Good (Good to Soft in places)

2:30 Catterick

Micronormous 28/1

Pipe horse upped in trip to 3m+ for the first time. I doubt the extra distance will hurt. The drift from 8/1 overnight, to 25's in a 7 runner is handy, if you go win only, like I do.

Result (Unplaced 18/1) chased leaders, lost place 15th, pushed along in 4th after 4 out, weakened 2 out, 5th.

3:00 Catterick

Max Of Stars 33/1

Discounted judging by the odds. Has run well and been competetive in today's race conditions before. At the odds on offer, that look about 3X too big, I'll play.

Result (Unplaced 28/1) raced keenly in rear, rapid headway out wide tracking leaders 3rd, led before next and went clear, reduced lead and pushed along before 2 out, headed 2 out and weakened quickly, 6th.

3:30 Catterick

Yggdrasil 20/1

Another David Pipe horse at a price. Looked in need of the last couple of runs. Has the ability to win this outright if they have him ready to go. I reckon they must have by now. Way overpriced if so.

Result (4th 14/1) tracked leader until before 9th, went 2nd again next until hit 12th, chased leaders, ridden and weakened home turn, left remote 4th and hampered by faller 2 out, 4th.

Venue: Plumpton | Going: Π Soft (Heavy in places)

3:45 Plumpton

Chambard 28/1

13yo campaigner has been given a squeak by the capper dropping him down to 137. He was winning class 1 handicaps from today's mark a year ago. If his legs are gone, then he won't win today's C3 event, obviously. At 28/1 on offer, I'll join Venetia Williams, who will pay to see if that's the case also.

Result (Unplaced 33/1) midfield, dropped to rear before 3rd, driven before 3 out, soon outpaced, no impression before last, 7th.

Stake: 4 X £1.00 Singles = £4.00

Returns: 0.00

Total: Minus £4.00
