RACE COMMENTARY7:00 Embarked (10/1) looks to be in decent form of late judged by his 3 placed efforts last month. Southwell based trainer Scott Dixon will surely be looking to get a back on the winning trail with this one, but the handicapper won't be helping if the horse keeps getting placed.
I guess the thinking is stable apprentice Mikkel Mortenson claiming 5lb, allied with running at home so to speak, will make the difference.
Add to that a decent draw, plus the 10/1 drift out from 9/2 overnight, I'll play.
7:30 Always Fearless (28/1) is allegedly the rag of the race. It's not easy to front run any race over the mile, not least at Southwell.
However, if anyone can, Hannon can. If you strike the last run due to reports of an irregular heartbeat, this one would be a quarter the price or less.
8:30 Easy Equation (10/1) always runs his race at Southwell. The extreme 2 mile distance is what he does.
I make him about the 5/1 3rd fav, so I'll take the 10's on the nightcap and cross my fingers. Cheers, Sandracer.
