Lester Piggot In Intensive Care With Heart Problem
Legendary flat racing jockey Lester Piggott (71) is reportedly suffering from a recurrence of a heart problem and is in intensive care in a Swiss hospital (Lausanne)."Greatest Jockey" Lester Piggott - 9 times Derby winner, 5 times 2000 Guineas winner, triple Arc de Triomphe winner, 2 times 1000 Guineas winner, 11 times Ascot Gold Cup winner, 5 times Champion Stakes winner, 6 Oaks, 4 Cheveley Park's, 5 Coronation Stakes, 10 Dewhursts, 7 Eclipse's and 6 time Lockinge winner (to name just a few) had a heart operation in December 2006, but has suffered some sort of complication while in Hong Kong.
Lester's wife, Susan Piggott and his daughter have flown to Switzerland to be by his bedside.

The word is that Lester Piggott's heart problem is not as serious as once feared and the Greatest Jockey is off the danger list."Lester remains in intensive care as a precationary measure", according to a Lester's daughter Maureen Haggas, who spoke to Racing UK. Maureen Haggas is the wife of trainer William Haggas, hence the name change.
