Racehorse Owners Association President Resigns

The ROA (racehorse owners association) president Stephen Crown has announced he will be "stepping down as the association's leader immediately prior to the ROA AGM on June 28".

Reading between the lines, ROA head honcho Steve Crown has become tired of the squabbling and political in-fighting that seems to be never-ending within the racing industry.

ROA Boss Steve Crown Said
"I have thought long and hard about this decision during the past few weeks.

The job of ROA President has expanded greatly in recent years. Since becoming President, and before that, Vice-President, I have tried to deal conscientiously with all the numerous and varied issues that have occurred within the realms of racing politics and finances in recent years.

But the racing industry shows no signs of getting any less demanding and the pressures put on the ROA President, within our current structure, are such that I now find myself doing very little else but working on matters related to racing politics."
