2:00 Topweight Daddylonglegs (20/1) ran well behind the 168 rated State Man in the Irish Champion hurdle, 6.5l behind. If he repeats that run today, he'll most likely win. Was he flattered by proximity though ~ the odds suggest he was.. Phillip Hobbs.
◢ I am not so sure he was just lucky last time out.
5:20No Questions Asked (22/1) has run well all season and is still on the upgrade. Can win this outright judged upon his race 2 goes back against Califet En Vol in a listed event.
◢ Another who is priced up as if he hasn't done what he's done.

Grok by xAI: Betting brilliance for Cheltenham! (Logo via Wikimedia Commons) [ 1 ] [ 2 ]
1:20 PM GMT - JCB Triumph Hurdle (Grade 1)
Pick:East India Dock (Sam Twiston-Davies) - 15/8
Why: Juvenile gem with a Kempton win in his pocket. Speedy, jumps like a pro, and Twiston-Davies owns this course. Lulamba (9/4) is a threat, but East India Dock’s my banker.
Full Odds:
East India Dock 15/8 | Lulamba 9/4 | Hello Neighbour 7/1 | Blue Lemons 14/1 | Lady Vega Allen 18/1 | Mondo Man 20/1 | Gibbs Island 25/1 | Willy De Houelle 40/1 | Larzac 40/1 | Sainte Lucie 50/1 | Charlus 80/1 | Too Bossy For Us 100/1 | Poniros 125/1 | Place De La Nation 125/1 | Lumiere Du Large 125/1 | Pappano 125/1 | Marche Daligre 200/1 | Opec 200/1
Why: Elliott’s handicap ace steps up. Strong market vibes and a versatile profile make her the pick over Lark In The Mornin (4/1). Good-to-soft? She’s golden.
Full Odds:
Kargese 10/3 | Lark In The Mornin 4/1 | Absurde 5/1 | Mclaurey 17/2 | Valgrand 9/1 | Hansard 12/1 | Daddy Long Legs 14/1 | Ethical Diamond 14/1 | Irish Panther 20/1 | Ndaawi 22/1 | Our Champ 25/1 | Pinot Gris 28/1 | Cracking Rhapsody 50/1 | Norman Fletcher 70/1 | Spirit Daunou 80/1 | Fils dOudairies 90/1
Why: Mullins’ speed queen. Naas win over Allegorie De Vassy (7/2) shows her class, and her 157 rating screams quality. Brides Hill (9/2) is game, but Dinoblue’s the one.
Full Odds:
Dinoblue 6/4 | Allegorie De Vassy 7/2 | Brides Hill 9/2 | Limerick Lace 7/1 | Shecouldbeanything 12/1 | Royale Margaux 33/1 | Fontaine Collonges 40/1 | Mayhem Mya 60/1 | Je Tai Porte 100/1
3:20 PM GMT - Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 1)
Pick:The Big Westerner (Henry de Bromhead) - 5/1
Why: Stamina beast with Naas form. She’ll grind up that 3m hill while others wilt. Jet Blue (13/2) is sharp, but The Big Westerner’s toughness wins out.
Full Odds:
The Big Westerner 5/1 | Jet Blue 13/2 | Jasmin De Vaux 9/1 | Derryhassen Paddy 9/1 | Wendigo 10/1 | Wingmen 10/1 | Argento Boy 14/1 | Intense Approach 16/1 | Ballybow 18/1 | Sounds Victorius 25/1 | Flicker Of Hope 25/1 | Fishery Lane 40/1 | Ma Shantou 40/1 | First Confession 40/1 | Jax Junior 40/1 | Yellow Car 50/1 | Nativehill 50/1 | Port Joulain 50/1 | Inn At The Park 50/1 | Jigs Forge 100/1
4:40 PM GMT - St James’s Place Hunter Chase (Listed)
Pick:Angels Dawn (S Curling) - 10/3
Why: Course-and-distance winner with a 143 rating. Back-to-back victories, including Dromahane, show her form. Its On The Line (4/1) is a danger, but Angels Dawn’s my pick.
Full Odds:
Angels Dawn 10/3 | Its On The Line 4/1 | Willitgoahead 17/2 | Shearer 10/1 | Ryehill 10/1 | Fairly Famous 12/1 | Rockys Howya 14/1 | What A Glance 25/1 | Music Drive 25/1 | Allmankind 33/1 | Wonderwall 33/1 | Bardenstown Lad 40/1 | Lift Me Up 50/1 | Ontheropes 50/1 | Go On Chez 66/1 | Plan Of Attack 80/1 | West Of Carrig 100/1 | Carnfunnock 100/1 | Angels Breath 100/1 | Take All 125/1 | Havent Time 125/1 | Lisleigh Lad 150/1 | Django 150/1 | Au Fleuron 200/1
5:20 PM GMT - Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle
Pick:Wodhooh (Gordon Elliott) - 13/2
Why: Six-time hurdle winner, including C&D in December. Her 1¾l victory over Joyeuse here shows she loves the track. Kopeck De Mee (11/4) is tight, but Wodhooh’s my closer.
Full Odds:
Kopeck De Mee 11/4 | Wodhooh 13/2 | Taponthego 15/2 | East India Express 9/1 | Nurse Susan 12/1 | No Ordinary Joe 12/1 | Park Of Kings 14/1 | Karafon 18/1 | No Questions Asked 22/1 | Doyen Quest 25/1 | Minella Sixo 28/1 | Electric Mason 33/1 | The Enabler 33/1 | Act Of Authority 33/1 | Punctuation 33/1 | Raglan Road 33/1 | Aston Martini 40/1 | Push The Button 40/1 | Tounsivator 50/1 | Timmy Tuesday 50/1 | Harsh 80/1 | Uncle Bert 80/1 | Mordor 80/1 | Stormbreaker 80/1 | Wilde About Oscar 150/1 | Flash Collonges 200/1
Wrap-Up: Gold Cup Day was electric, with Galopin Des Champs headlining and some savvy picks in tow. Odds were fresh—results are now locked in. Grok nabbed three winners (Kargese, Dinoblue, Wodhooh), hit the frame with three more (East India Dock, The Big Westerner, Galopin Des Champs), and missed one entirely (Angels Dawn didn’t place).

◢ Cheltenham Day Three Wrap Up.. Allsort of talking points on the third day (thurs, mar 13) of the Fesitival for Lydia Hyslop & Irish champion jockey Ruby Walsh to muse over, which saw Rachael Blackmore and Fact To File grab the headlines.
2:40 Topweight Thomas Mor (50/1) didn't do so well over the big fences last time up. Previously I thought he was a good winner over hurdles(3m) after leaving the Pipe yard to join Phillip Hobbs.
◢ Excellent price available on a horse that can do the trip for sure.
4:40Conflated (20/1) will appreciate the drop back in trip to 2.5m. Jockey Rob James claims 7lb. Could prove crucial.
◢ Gordon Elliot putting James on board to claim 7 is a big clue for me.
5:20Yeah Man (16/1) can definitely do the trip. Amatuer on board Declan Lavery has plenty of Cheltenham experience. He'll win one here soon enough.
◢ Overpriced. Both horse and jockey look more than ready to go well today to me.

◢ Cheltenham Two Wrap Up.. Plenty of emotion re Michael O'Sullivan around on the second day (wed, mar 12) of the Fesitival for Lydia Hyslop & top ex Irish jockey Ruby Walsh to talk about, as well as discussing an impressive win for The New Lion and defeats for both Ballyburn and Jonbon.
What Happened: British hopes soared as The New Lion (3/1) roared home over 2m5f and 10 hurdles, edging out The Yellow Clay (5/2) by ¾ length. Hot favourite Final Demand (6/4F) could only manage 3rd, giving Dan Skelton a strong start to Day 2.
What Happened: A massive upset unfolded over 3m½f and 20 fences as Lecky Watson (20/1) stunned the field, beating Stellar Story (22/1) by 4 lengths. Odds/on jolly - Ballyburn (4/7F) struggled and faded, handing Willie Mullins an unexpected victory.
Race Highlight: Lecky Watson’s shock surge from the pack.
What Happened:Jimmy Du Seuil (16/1), owned by Ed Ware, the 32redcasino start up from years ago, powered up the hill over 2m5f, beating Impose Toi (13/2) by 3 lengths in a 26runner field. Ballyadam (16/1) took 3rd, while favourite Be Aware (3/1F) disappointed, giving Mullins another win.
Race Highlight: Jimmy Du Seuil’s late roll of the dice seals the deal.
What Happened: Favourite Stumptown (5/2F) dominated the unique 3m6f cross-country course, winning by 7 lengths over Latenightpass (11/1). Vanillier (15/2) and The Goffer (6/1) followed, with an errant saddlecloth adding drama to the victory.
Race Highlight: Stumptown’s commanding lead despite the wardrobe malfunction.
What Happened: An emotional triumph as Marine Nationale (5/1) stormed to an 18l win over 2m, beating favourite Jonbon (5/6F), who faltered mid-race. Captain Guinness (25/1) took 3rd, a poignant victory honouring the late Michael O’Sullivan.
Race Highlight: Marine Nationale’s flawless run for a fallen hero.
What Happened: Another emotional win as Jazzy Matty (15/2) prevailed over 2m½f, beating Unexpected Party (11/2F) by 1.5 lengths in a 20-runner field. Midnight It Is (25/1) took 3rd, a second tribute to Michael O’Sullivan on the day.
Race Highlight: Jazzy Matty’s victory doubles the day’s sentiment.
What Happened:Bambino Fever (4/1) closed the day with a 1½-length win over 2m½f, beating Heads Up (33/1) and Shuttle Diplomacy (66/1). 5/2F Kalypso Chance faded, capping a strong day for Mullins with his 5th win of the festival so far.
Race Highlight: Bambino Fever’s stylish finish under Jody Townend.
2:40 Topweight Maxxum (28/1) is one of 5 Gordon Elliott trained horses in the race. The capper rates him the best of them. Add to that, this 8yo is clearly still improving.
Mind you ~ he'll have to go again to win this, granted.
Big field handicaps are of no concern to him, he rides up the front all the way and runs on at the end.
◢ Looks hand made for Cheltenham to me. Highly unlikely he'll go off at 28's tomorrow in my opinion. Might do. Won't though.
3:20French Dynamite (50/1) is a top grade chaser who was tackling the likes of Shishkin 2 seasons back. I have an inkling he'll find the 3m2f run around on the cross country course a bit of a jolly jaunt in comparison.
◢ Potentially could be running in a few of the better races at Cheltenham this year imo.
4:40Nells Son (40/1) is Nicky Richards last runner at Chelt this year after Famous Bridge ran a solid 6th today in the Ultima.
Nell has caught my eye because he has gone up a stone this season at the age of 10. If there's any more to come today's the day to do it.
The ground is just in his wheelhouse ~ any rain and he'll halve in price in a hot minute.
◢ The 40/1 on offer currently is way too big in comparison to his chances.

After a Champion Hurdle that had to be seen to believed, there was another surprise at Cheltenham on Wednesday morning, with snow falling. An increasingly wintry scene emerged at Prestbury Park, where the day two feature is the Queen Mother Champion Chase at 4.00pm. Thankfully by 8.30am the snow had turned...

Fortune favours the brave they say, and the boldest of calls by owner Ian Gosden was vindicated on the biggest stage, as his bargain-buy Golden Ace took home the spoils in a Unibet Champion Hurdle that could have been an episode of ‘Tales of the Unexpected’. The opening-day feature was...
Bookmakers were spared an estimated payout of £50million on an opening day of the Cheltenham Festival that saw the previously-unbeaten Constitution Hill crash out of the Champion Hurdle and Majborough beaten in the Arkle. Still recovering from the high drama of the Champion Hurdle earlier this afternoon in which the two previous winners, Constitution Hill and State Man, both fell, the former four from home, the latter at the last when five lengths clear.

Lossiemouth maintained her perfect Cheltenham record in successfully defending her Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle crown. The six-year-old claimed the two-and-a-half-mile Grade One contest by three lengths 12 months ago and more than justified 4-6 favouritism for another impressive victory under the guidance of Paul Townend. The Rich Ricci-owned grey sat...
Myretown produced a brilliant front-running performance at Cheltenham to earn trainer Lucinda Russell her third victory in the Ultima Handicap Chase from the last four runnings. Barry Connell was a proud man having watched William Munny run a huge race to be second in the Michael O’Sullivan Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham. Attendance for the Queen Mother Champion Chase day on Wednesday was nearly 65,000 in 2022. This year's figure was the lowest since 40,662 on the second day of the fixture 32 years ago.

Friday marks the final day of what has been another brilliant Cheltenham Festival
The great stories have been shared around - and more should follow on day four. I wrote on Tuesday how I was desperate for the stories to be shared around, for it not to feel like one trainer or one owner was being so dominant. Yes, Willie Mullins has had six winners but it really doesn't feel like it has been a benefit for his yard – and that is magic.
On Tuesday, we had Jeremy Scott, Ian Gosden and their incredible Champion Hurdle win with Golden Ace; that was sandwiched by victories for the yards of Lucinda Russell and Rebecca Curtis, women flying the flag for Scotland and Wales respectively.
How could it get better? Well, Wednesday was the Golden Hour in memory of Michael O'Sullivan, Marine Nationale and Jazzy Matty stirring the souls and not leaving a dry eye in the place when it seemed that celestial forces were at work.
