2025 All-Weather Championships

🟃The All-Weather Championships is the top of the shop prize money~wise AW flat racing series, designed to bring/attract some of the big boys on to the AW circuit, to showcase the talents of thier horses, the top jockeys and trainers during the winter months. Initiated by the Arena Racing Company in 2013, the series spans from October to Good Friday each year, ending in the big money Finals Day.

AW Finals Day Overview

🟃The 2025 AW Championships Finals Day is scheduled for Good Friday, April 18, at Newcastle Racecourse. This marks the 4th consecutive year the event will be held at Newcastle, following thew previous years final day venues at Lingfield Park and Wolverhampton.

🟃The event is renowned for offering over £1 million in prize money, making it the richest all~weather race day in Europe.

🏆 Championship Categories

The series features six main championship categories:

  • 3-Year-Old Championship ▸ Final over 6 furlongs.
  • Sprint Championship ▸ Final over 6 furlongs.
  • Mile Championship ▸ Final over 8 furlongs.
  • Middle Distance Championship ▸ Final over 10 furlongs.
  • Marathon Championship ▸ Final over approximately 15 furlongs.
  • Fillies & Mares Championship ▸ Final over 7 furlongs.

🎗 Qualification Criteria

To be eligible for Finals Day, horses must have at least three all~weather runs during the qualifying period. These can be at tracks in Great Britain, Ireland, France, the USA, Dubai, or Saudi Arabia.

The Finals Day will be held exclusively at Newcastle Racecourse this year. This is the fourth year running the event is based there since its move from Lingfield Park in 2022.

🎗 All-Weather Vase at Lingfield Park

The All~Weather Vase takes place at Lingfield Park on the same day, offering over £390K in prize money. It includes 6 hcp races and a 1.5m contest for apprentice jockeys ~ aimed at being an ideal showcase for rising stars and horses who didn’t qualify for the Finals.
