Craven Stakes - Adagio
The Craven Stakes meeting at Newmarket starts tomorrow afternoon. Adagio could well go off favourite in the Craven Stakes marquee race at 3.45 on thursday(19 april). Thousand Words, Big Robert and Sonny Red lead the challengers.
I am hoping for a big run from Adagio.
Al Shemak
Today the big race for me at the Craven meeting is the Class 1 Listed at 4.20. Sir Michael Stoute will be hopeful as to the chances of Al Shemak winning on his season's reappearance, so am I. Mark Johnstone sends out Hearthstead Maison with Justin Fanning on board. Frankie Dettori is booked to ride for Mick Channon on Massive.
Hamoody
The Sporting Index Handicap today at 3.10 is another interesting looking race for flat racing fans. Frankie Dettori rides Hamoody on his season's reappearance for Peter Chapple Hyam.
The Mark Johnstone trained Hinton Admiral has a recent win on the all-weather at Lingfield under his belt already this season. A slightly disappointing run when 7/2 JF at Newcastle(march 31) recently, may well be worth ignoring. It is possible the recent runs Hinton Admiral has had, could well be the deciding factor over the Newmarket 7f, but I will stick with Hamoody. Barry Hills Prime Defender also has strong claims.
