Jamie Spencer delighted his followers with a 16/1 win on the filly Chantilly Tiffany in the Ditton Stakes. 11/10 Favourite Kings Event could only manage 3rd, Zifaaf was second at 11/2. My selection War And Peace and Zach's Harmoney were non runners.
2:35 Newmarket
Mookhlesa (8/1) won the maiden with a well timed run by jockey Richard Hills from 2 out, wheras the second placed Darryl Holland mount Missit (9/2) can be counted as an unlucky loser. Holland could arguably have asked for an effort a bit earlier, because Missit was finishing with a flourish at the end, but it was too little too late. Favourite backers saw the 100/30 jolly come home in 3rd.
3:10 Newmarket
A nice enough performance by Hannon's favourite Asset (11/4 Fav) with Richard Hughes aboard to take this Abernant Stakes ahead of stablemate Assertive (8/1). Kevin Darley came home in 3rd on Paradise Isle (13/2).
3:45 Newmarket Craven Stakes
Sir Michael Stoute's hotpot Adagio won the Craven Stakes after finding plenty of trouble in running. Jockey McEvoy did not panic, even with a furlong to go and got the split he was waiting for to win by a going away 1&half lengths.
Jamie Spencer's mount Sonny Red (16/1) gave Adagio most to do, but could not hold off the well backed favourite. Thousand Words (5/2) ran creditably in 3rd position.
Adagio is almost sure to be chopped in price from 20/1 by the layers for the 2007 Epsom Derby and more specifically, the 2000 guineas (14/1 - 5/1).

4:20 Newmarket
Manduro (6/4 Fav) absolutely hacked up in the Sefton at headquarters for French connections today. The only other group 2 winner in the field Speciosa (12/1) came home in second place for forecast backers 4 lengths behind. Final Verse (14/1) was a creditable enough third.
4:55 Newmarket
Another easy winner on the Craven card today with 5/6 favourite Yaqeen ridden by Richard Hills scooting home in the Rossdales Maiden Fillies Stakes from 50/1 outsider Cassiara. Richard Hughes came in third on Costume (9/2).
5:30 Newmarket
Jamie Spencer claimed a 118/1 double on Metaphoric (7/1) (also won on Chantilly Tiffany 16/1 in the 2 o'clock), to deny Regal Flush (9/2) who tried to make all but drifted quite badly in the final furlong. Wandle (9/2) looked the winner as he came to challenge Regal Flush for the lead out wide on the Newmarket track, but faded with half a furlong to go.
